Pilastro Architecture magazine
Year:
Ongoing
Pilastro Architecture Magazine is a vintage-inspired independent architecture magazine. the original idea was to create a magazine using all of my own photography and writing.
Pilastro went through several different iterations before even having a title. Originally, I only knew that I wanted to create a magazine, but I did not have any particular style in mind. As I started sketching out different covers, one version of it included an illustration of one of the pictures I took of Walden 7, an apartment building in Barcelona and the focus of the first ever edition. After making the illustration black and white and adding exaggerated versions of the colors of the building to the page, I created the style for the magazine. As someone with Italian heritage, I thought that a word in Italian that related to architecture would make for a good name, which is how I landed on Pilastro, the Italian word for pillar.
